Known for their sweet flavor and crisp texture, apples are perhaps America's favorite fruit. They are surprisingly easy to grow, and there are many great varieties that do well even in the southern part of Texas, or central Florida! Yes, you can grow apples in the South. One hundred and fifty years ago, apple trees were part of every farm throughout the region. For further reading on this subject, check out our book.

Apple trees require a pollinator in most cases. This chart (courtesy of the Missouri Extension service) shows many of the varieties we carry and what other varieties they pollinate.
