We're thrilled to have trees ready to sell from this old apple variety! Carolina Red June apple is an old southern apple, originating in Tennessee in the early 1800's. It's a medium-sized apple that ripens in late June in most of the South. It's tasty right off the tree! The fruit is red and the tree is vigorous. It tends to bloom late enough to avoid late freezes, ensuring a consistent crop. It is successful to some diseases, but was (obviously) historically grown organically. It requires 600 chill hours. Carolina Red June apple may produce a second, fall crop of apples, depending on the climate where it is grown. Great for eating fresh or for cooking.
