The Eureka persimmon is one of the best astringent varieties. It is frost and drought resistant, thriving in Texas and much of the Southeastern US. It is self-pollinating and seedless, and is very sweet and juicy when fully ripe. Fruit ripens in late summer. Fruit is oval-shaped. Vigorous trees. 100-200 chill hours. Zones 6-10.
