The red buckeye plant (Aesculus pavia) is a native shrub that grows beautifully in the South. The flowers in spring are gorgeous. Some of them will turn into an inedible fruit with the "buckeye" in the center. The buckeye is not edible by humans, but it may be a wildlife food source.

This is a great native landscape plant. Partial or full sun. Zones 6-9.
