Nonpariel almond is the most popular almond variety in the commercial almond industry in the United States. It's high quality nut and dependable bearing make it an ideal almond tree for most settings. It generally blooms in early March and the nuts are ripe in late August/early September. Nonpariel requires about 400 chill hours and does best in USDA zones 7-9. It requires another almond tree as a pollinator. When you eat an almond commercially grown in the US, it's most like a Nonpariel. Great for the home gardener.
