The Pink Lady apple has earned an international reputation as one of the finest dessert apples ever introduced. Developed in Western Australia by breeder John Cripps, Pink Lady is the trademarked name for apples produced from the Cripps Pink variety under strict quality standards. The variety was created by crossing Golden Delicious with Lady Williams, combining outstanding flavor with excellent keeping quality.

Pink Lady trees are vigorous and upright, producing abundant blossoms in spring that attract bees and other pollinators. Unlike low-chill apples such as Anna and Dorsett Golden, Pink Lady requires a longer growing season and more winter chilling. In suitable regions of the South, however, it rewards growers with one of the longest-lasting and highest-quality apples available.

The fruit is strikingly beautiful. Its yellow-green background becomes covered with a bright pink to rosy-red blush as the apples mature in autumn. Beneath the colorful skin lies firm, dense flesh with an unmistakable crispness that has helped make the variety famous.

The trees are extremely drought and heat tolerant, and the fruit is sweet, with a slight tangy taste. Pink Lady apples are sold in supermarkets all over the U.S., and these apples thrive in the climate of the southern states! 450 chill hours. Ripens late October.
